AMP manufactures electrical personal protective equipment under our Armadillo line, built by people who spend their working lives in front of energized gear. The engineering side of our business calculates the incident energy; the manufacturing side makes the equipment that protects against it.
Why we build it ourselves
Every arc flash study we perform ends the same way: a label stating the incident energy at a piece of equipment and the PPE category required to work on it. Specifying that protection and then handing clients off to source it elsewhere left a gap we were better positioned to close.
Building the equipment in-house means the people designing it are the same people reading the study results, standing in the substation, and hearing from technicians about what actually works across a full shift.
